Children’s Books
At the Reformed Forum, we realized we were not providing much content specifically oriented toward families and children. We’re attempting to remedy that gap in our offerings with reformedfamily.org. As a regular feature on this site, we plan to provide reviews and news on children’s books for reformed families. We hope this proves to be an informative and encouraging place for families to learn about helpful resources for the nuture and admonition of our children.
Can you suggest a good children’s story book Bible without any pictures of Jesus?
Unfortunately there aren’t that many books out there that do not have pictures of Jesus in them. This is naturally going to be a struggle for many reformed families. After speaking with a few people who would know, I received the following recommendations. The Banner of Truth edition (3 volumes in paperback) of Catherine Vos’s Child’s Story Bible is a helpful resource. You might also look at The Life of Jesus for the Very Young. Neither of these have pictures of Jesus.
Christian Focus apparently publishes one as well, though I’m not aware of it and can’t find the specific reference.
